The Luxembourg Rail Protocol is a visionary project that will help the rail sector deliver major social, economic and environmental benefits to millions of people for decades to come. It will also boost every area of the rail industry.

But persuading governments worldwide to adopt the Luxembourg Rail Protocol is a huge challenge.

As a not-for-profit organisation, lack of funding restricts what we can achieve.

Today, all our officers work pro bono. The chairman provides the RWG offices and administrative support without charge, and will continue to do so. We have one consultant whose fees are generously covered by a sponsor.

Subscriptions from our membership cover the basic administration of the association, but we urgently need resources to do more:

Detailed country-by-country research
Expert reports on the micro and macro benefits of the Protocol
National and regional seminars and workshops
Professional public affairs and PR help to ensure that our arguments get to the right people
Literature, digital publications, and promotional videos
Development of our website and social media presence
Travel and other expenses for our officers and members attending meetings with governments and stakeholders, and giving presentations on behalf of the RWG
