EU Parliament votes for the Luxembourg Protocol

The European Parliament’s Plenary on Tuesday adopted the Recommendation on the draft Council decision on the approval, on behalf of the European Union, of the ‘Protocol to the Convention on International Interests in Mobile Equipment on Matters specific to Railway Rolling Stock’

Members of the EP adopted the Recommendation with a large majority: 557 votes in favour (82 against and 17 abstentions).

The Protocol’s adoption has now passed through all the three necessary EU institutions and the formal ratification should now follow in the coming months.
